Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of srt-flow (“the Service”), operated as a sole proprietorship by Zhibin Huang in Quebec, Canada. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

srt-flow translates uploaded .srt subtitle files into other languages using an automated LLM translation provider. Translations are machine-generated and may contain errors.

2. Accounts

You sign in with Google and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to upload content you do not have the right to translate. You warrant that you own or are licensed to use the subtitle files you upload. Subtitles are often copyrighted; rights are your responsibility, not ours. You further agree not to upload unlawful, infringing, or malicious content, or to abuse, overload, reverse-engineer, or attempt to break the Service or its rate limits. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Third-party processing

To translate your files, subtitle text is sent to our LLM provider DeepSeek (operated from China), which may use it to train its models. See our Privacy Policy. By uploading, you accept this processing.

5. Credits, billing & refunds

The Service uses prepaid credits (translation minutes) purchased via Stripe as one-time payments — no subscription or auto-renewal. A free tier of 30 minutes/month is provided without a card. Unused credits are refundable within 30 days of purchase; used/consumed credits are non-refundable. Refunds are processed manually via Stripe — email [email protected]. Prices are shown in USD; your bank may apply currency-conversion charges.

6. Intellectual property

You retain rights to the files you upload and the translations you receive. You grant us the limited right to process your files solely to provide the Service.

7. Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND ACCURACY OF TRANSLATIONS. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 90 days before the claim, or (b) CAD $50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time ([email protected]). We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Disputes are subject to the courts of Quebec.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms; the “last updated” date will change. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
